Carmel Beach
Carmel beach has one of the fastest breaking waves in the area. It is also
one of the most mellow, small waves and so therefore is often very crowded.
Primarily it likes a west swell or even a south swell can make its way in at
Carmel. Northwest swells will wrap around but are seriously diminished in
size from the exposed peninsula. Light wind is a rule here on most days and
that's a huge plus for the conditions here. Carmel's waves are quick, hollow, and near to shore. No
long, strenuos paddle outs here.
-Heavy, fast breaking wave
